DOSING EQUIPMENT
The use of efficient dosing equipment is one of the preconditions for the successful application of silage additives and grain preservatives.
The devices must be capable of reliably dosing an average amount, set in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, into the crop to be treated, regardless of whether granulate spreaders or liquid dosing devices are used. However, due to their easier handling and better dosing accuracy, liquid products have become the most popular.
Efficient dosing equipment must comply with the following requirements:
- sturdy and reliable construction
- easy to operate and maintain
- average quantity check with a warning if too much or too little is dosed
- the possibility to scale up if requirements increase
- the option to dose aggressive substances such as e.g. acids

Auger fillers
The auger fillers, jointly developed by ADDCON and SILA, are a recent development for handling grain and maize. These mobile and semi-stationary auger fillers are based on "normal" augers which have been professionally optimised to enable an even and fast treatment of grain and maize with preservatives such as KOFA GRAIN -pH 5-. Agricultural contractors will especially benefit from these mobile augers, since this allows them to expand their range of offerings by grain and maize preservation services.
